The SSC (Staff Selection Commission) has issued a fresh notification for the candidates of Combined Higher Secondary Level (10+2) Examination with regard to the duration of compensatory time. Before delving into the details of the latest notice, let us know about what SSC and this examination is all about.


The staff selection commission is a GOI (Government of India) organization entrusted with the role of conducting recruitment of staff for various ministries and departments of the government of India and subordinate offices.

The commission consists of a chairman along with two members and a secretary-cum-Controller of examination. Along with other examinations, every year, SSC conducts the SSC – Combined Graduate Level Examination (SSC-CGL)  in order to recruit various staff for the departments and organizations of the government of India.

WHAT IS Combined Higher Secondary Level (10+2) Examination?

SSC CHSL is an examination conducted by SSC for recruitment of Junior Secretariat Assistant, Postal Assistant/ Sorting Assistant and Data Entry Operator in various Ministries/ Departments/Organisations under the Government of India(GOI).

A new notice from the Staff Selection Commission (SSC):

The fresh notice issued by SSC is regarding the compensatory time awarded specific candidates in the Typing Test conducted for LDC/JSA and Postal Assistant/Sorting Assistant as well as Skill Test conducted for Data Entry Operator. As per the notice, the time duration for both the tests is amended and revised, as given below.

Twenty minutes will be allowed to the Visually Handicapped(VH)/Orthopedically handicapped( OH ) candidates who are afflicted by Cerebral Palsy. On the other hand, the OH candidates having 40% and above deformity in hand will be given 20 minutes.

Notice regarding typing Test for LDC/JSA and Postal Assistant/Sorting Assistant

VH/OH candidates afflicted with Cerebral Palsy as well as OH candidates having 40% and above deformity in hand will get 15 minutes.

Moreover, the VH candidates who have opted for scribe in the written examination will be allowed to have a passage dictator in the typing test.

Is mentioned in the notice that PWD(person with disabilities) candidates can opt for their passage dictator during the typing test.
